Defining Client Needs

This course taught me a lot in the way of patience. I’ve never viewed drawing or sketching as something that I was very good at it. The feedback I received in this class made me feel a bit better about this journey that I’m on. I think the more that I practice, and research more, I will be successful. I loved seeing the diagrams and understanding how the design process breaks down.

Most of the feedback that I received was fairly positive, which of course is always easy to accept. The constructive feedback that I received was very helpful in deciding which designs to focus more on. I moved away from the more illustrative sketches, and picked simplified versions of the ones I liked the most. This feedback was incredibly helpful, and I will be carrying it with me in the next courses.

Action Plan

I could not be more excited to be in the Media Design MFA program. I have dabbled with different design tools and creating graphics for the last few years, and have found a true love in it. I get frustrated because I feel like I’m not very good at it, but as Sean says in the video, “it takes time, and practice.” I didn’t think that I would be very good at graphic design because I’m not very good at drawing. While I’m not good at drawing, I can definitely sketch out a general idea, and hopefully improve on my dating as I go. My vision for this program is to stop faking my design skills and really gain the knowledge to put my ideas into real live projects. My goal is to complete this program and be able to make a career out design. I am a writer and I hope to combine my skills in order to bring my writing to life, and design book covers.

There are many challenges to be faced while pursuing your life’s task, but the important thing to remember is that you should never give up. No matter what temptations you might find to detract you from your true path, you should never lose sight of where you are going.
Breathe in the air of a new season. Although I may not be where I wish to be, I am far from where I started, and thankful for the journey that has led me to where I am. Live in the moment and enjoy the ups and downs on your way to your life’s path.
